Mandate:
The mandate of the Ministry of Steel Development in Nigeria includes the following:
* Formulating policies for the development of the steel industry in Nigeria
* Promoting the development of a globally competitive and innovative steel industry in Nigeria
* Encourage the growth of the steel industry through easy and business- friendly access to infrastructures such as power and transportation
* Regulation of the activities of the steel and other metal industry through issuance of entry and operational licenses and permits.
